Ohmygod. Seriously. WTF?!
Jaime Pressley, the real-life dog-faced trailer trash skank ho from 'My Name is Earl' said the following:
"Some women just skip having babies or adopt because they don't want to get fat or they haven't put in the time to find a partner. It's great to adopt, but a lot of adoptions are motivated by vanity and laziness."
Oh, snap! Somebody better slap this bitch! Better yet, I'll drag my own fat, lazy ass over there (after applying makeup, of course) and slap her to high hell.

Um... motivated by laziness??? She should try adoption - she will find it is not for the faint of heart. And is not easy!! Thanks for you comments on my blog the past few days.
Being the spin artist that I can be (sorry they taught me how to do it in school), I could see her response being well some are motivated by other things, but that is what most are motivated by - I am with Jennifer, just start the process and you will learn quickly that while having a baby requires NO training or classes whatsoever, adopting requires more classes than anyone ever though and a COMPLETE background check as well as a TON of red tape....if you want a baby quickly and can have one that would be the way out....but those who adopt are special, tough people who learn to let these STUPID comments roll off our backs!
Words from a woman who has obviously never tried to adopt.
Meet guy, have sex, make baby. three simple steps and vary rarely is CIS involved....JEEZ.
"Vanity and laziness.."? Oh, so then I am sure she won't be needing a personal trainer and nutritionist to help her lose that ugly baby fat or a nanny to take care of her kids since she probably is not bright enough to change a diaper without help...
WTF is right! obviously we all know the truth. It is hard to adopt a baby/child, it tests your patience every day. Something she is also doing with her comments ;)
p.s I've been enjoying your blog, it's made me laugh, which is just what I need, so thanks.
sheesh.. what a bright and articulate lady.
Thanks for your comment on my blog. (I've actually read yours a few times before too... I'm an incurable lurker of blogs.) Glad to know I'm in good company :)
I totally agree that her comment was TOTALLY uncalled for, but after reading the article, it sounds like she was directing it at 'celebrities who adopt.' (which was stated). It has been suggested that some Hollywood people DO in fact adopt to avoid the whole pregnancy phase that doesn't fit into their career mindset.
That sort of thinking makes me just as mad, because having a child, through birth or adoption shouldn't be about having something that improves your image, or used as a fad like those tiny dogs were. It seems sometimes that it might be becoming that way in the public eye.
I have several friends who have, or are in the process of adopting, it is not for lazy people. Its stressful and emotional. Its no cake walk. In some ways, 9 months of pregnancy and 24 hours of labour have NOTHING on several years of waiting, paperwork and costs both financial and personal.
Its not just her comments on adoption that make me mad, but her view on pregnancy bug me too. There are women out there that would die to be 'fat' and with child. I had a terrible pregnancy, with sickness and pain... but to this day, I will never say I HATED being pregnant, my daughter was worth it all, and also because what if I hurt someone who heard me say that who couldn't have a child....
I think the rule of thumb is, if you don't have anything nice to say, shut your trap.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! You're right...I was a fool to think there would be an actual "resort" in Ohio.
And Jaime Pressley can suck it.
Well, after reading the entire interview, I'm happy to report that my opinion of her hasn't changed in the least. Apparently she doesn't have much of a stretch playing a Trailer Trash Bimbo on "Earl". Take her comments with a grain of salt; she's totally ignorant...
I can't stand people that speak without thinking of the hurt they will cause. Thanks for posting on my blog. You leave great comments.
"...they haven't put in the time to find a partner"
That comment pisses me off! Stupid bunt. I try not to be too sensitive at these 'generalizations' that people make but that's just plain stupid. As a single mom adopting a child, I would like to kick her in the babymaker for that...
THANKS for your commenting on my blog. I'm going to catch up on your postings. From what I've read, you're my kind of blogger!
